Hundreds of young artists from across Jefferson County showcased their creativity and civic spirit at the grand finale of the 2026 License to Vote art contest held at Lynn Family Stadium. The annual competition challenges students to design “Get Out the Vote” artwork in the shape of a license plate.
The collaboration between the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office and Voter Outreach, Inc. is one of the region’s most engaging youth‑driven democracy projects. This year, 47 finalists representing elementary, middle, and high schools were selected for their designs. One grand prize winner from each category was chosen.
Finalists competed for prize packages, including laptop computers, a day’s interest on $1 million, and tickets to local attractions. In addition to student prizes, each winning school received a $500 gift certificate for art supplies, and the teachers of the winning students were honored with special Louisville experience packages.
The winning pieces will be displayed at Revelry Boutique and Art Gallery, offering a public reminder of the importance of civic engagement and the power of youth voices in strengthening democracy.
