Motor Vehicle Fees

Fees do not include possible Notary charges ($2)* or Mail-in Fee ($2)

Kentucky Revised Statute Section 64.012 as amended by House Bill 537, mandates the following fee changes:

• Motor Vehicle Standard Plate Registration Renewal: $21
• Motor Vehicle Renewal of 10,000 lb Plates or Greater: Varies by Weight
• Motor Vehicle Title Application: $9
• Lien Filing Fee: $22
• Permanent Disabled Placard (First issuance or renewal of primary placard): $0
• Temporary Disabled Placard: $0
• Duplicate Title Fee: $6
• Duplicate Registration Fee: $3
• Duplicate Registration with Decal Fee: $6
• Lien penalty for late MV Taxes: $2
• Marriage License: $60 (as of June 27, 2025)

There is a $10.00 fee for a second Disabled Placard (only available for Blue-6 year placards) or to replace a lost or stolen Disabled Placard.

There is a $2.00 fee per notarization provided by a county clerk. Any document(s) notarized by a county clerk must be signed in front of the clerk providing notarization and the signer must provide valid photo identification.
