Wills and name changes are handled through our Deed Room / Probate Department. After a will or a name change is approved by Probate Court they will be brought to the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office to be recorded.
Once recorded and indexed, the will or name change is imaged and microfilmed, the original being retained by the Clerk’s Office.
The fee to obtain a copy of a recorded will or name change is $2.00 for three pages or less; 50 cents each page thereafter.
A certified copy is $5.00 for the first three pages and 50 cents for each additional page.
