Absentee ballot applications are also available at any Jefferson County Clerk's Branch Motor Vehicle Office, or at the Election Center. Absentee ballots may be requested in person, by mail, fax, phone or e-mail. The address is:

Military personnel serving abroad, along with their spouses and dependents, can register to vote and/or request an absentee ballot by completing the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) and fax it to the Jefferson County Election Center at 502.574.5044. The Jefferson County Clerk serves as Chairperson of the Board of Elections and, as such, is charged with the day-to-day responsibilities of overseeing voter registration and conducting elections held within the county. Every aspect of this process is done by a bipartisan staff. Voter registration in Jefferson County is easy and convenient.

Any citizen who has not been convicted of a felony and who will be at least 18 years of age by Election Day in November may register to vote by simply requesting a voter registration form at any of the County Clerk's Offices or at the Election Center, 810 Barret Avenue, Room 103.

Whenever you change your name or address you must notify the Election Center to ensure that you will remain registered to vote at your current and legal address.

New registrations, address changes, or name changes must be made no later than 29 days before any election.

Per Kentucky law, If you change your party affiliation between January 1st and the filing Primary Election, you will only be able to vote in non-partisan races. Persons who wish to file for local office may obtain forms from the Election Center. Voting statistics, records, political maps, and other data are maintained as public record and for purchase.
