Procedure for Sale of Current Year Delinquent Taxes: Remittance of Funds

All requests and funds received on the first day of the sale (between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EDT) will be prioritized by lottery. All requests and funds received after the first day of the sale will be processed on a first come, first served basis. You may select delinquent taxes for the current year up to the amount of your tendered balance. If you want to purchase additional current year delinquent taxes, you will need to remit additional funds. These additional requests will be prioritized by their time-stamped receipt date. In case of a tie, first receipt of funds will be determined by lottery. No preference will be given based on prior year purchases.

All funds tendered must be remitted by one of the three methods listed below:

1. Wire transfer to our account - contact the manager of our Delinquent Tax Department at (502) 574-5061 or the manager of the Finance Department at (502) 574-6779 to obtain the wire transfer information.

2. Certified check sent by certified mail to our office - make check payable to Jefferson County Clerk's Office and mail to the following address:

3. Cash and/or certified funds by walk-in at JCCO Delinquent Tax Department between 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. EDT. No personal checks or credit/debit cards will be accepted.
